I am in love with this adorable Oscars Party dessert idea from my great friend, Kristi at Saucy Pants (if you haven’t checked out her site, it’s a must!) In celebration of the big awards show on Sunday, Kristi decided to whip up a cute spin on one of this year’s favorites, The Help. You may recall that Minny’s Chocolate Pie plays a big role in this movie, so she took that idea and created a “minny” version baked in stemless martini glasses… perfect “minny” servings!

{Step 1} Mold the crust to your jar of choice and crimp the edges decoratively. Here, she used store-bought crust from Trader Joe’s and molded it around stemless martini glasses, but if you prefer to make your own, you can do that too! You can use a mason jar or even a muffin tin to mold your crust to. Line the crust with foil or parchment paper and bake at 350 for 15 minutes or until set. Remove foil or parchment paper and bake for about 5 more minutes until crust is dry, but not brown.

{Step 2} In a separate bowl, whisk the sugar, cocoa powder, butter, eggs, evaporated milk, vanilla and salt until smooth.

{Step 3} Pour the filling into the pie shell and bake for about 45 minutes until the filling is set around the edges but a little jiggly in the center. Cover the crust with strips of foil halfway through baking. Let cool.

{Step 4} In a bowl, beat whipping cream and sugar until stiff peaks form. Top pies with whipped cream and toppers. Note: Pie can be made ahead of time and refrigerated overnight.

Kristi also created darling, FREE printable pie toppers and a printable food tent card for you to use with your “Minnies!” She also offers a blank version of the printables for use on the rest of your table!

Want this overall look for your Oscars dessert table? Here’s the scoop…
1. Cover your table with this black and white striped fabric from IKEA.
2. Print onto cardstock and cut out these “Minny” Chocolate Pie Topper Printables (above). Glue them to popsicle sticks and place in your “Minny” pies.
3. Using the same cardstock, print and cut out these Food Tent Card Printables (above) and place them wherever you would like.
4. For your other dishes you can use these these Blank Oscar Party Dessert Topper/Serving Card Printables.
5. Cut out these Oscar Award Printables (adapted from ask-h.blogspot.com) and trace them onto sparkly cardstock. I got mine at Michaels.
